Are the rubber pieces on the bottom white and can they be made without or with a less noticeable piece on the bottom?

Are the bottoms rubber or leather? I want to take on a trip with lots of cobblestones and don’t want to slip if they’re not a rubber grip sole! Thanks!

Hello, I am very nervous about purchasing shoes online at this price point considering one only gets store credit for returns. My foot is between 24.1 and 24.4 cm (~9.5 inches) but my width is ~4 inches. I also have flat feet. I usually purchase 8.5 to accommodate for the width of my foot and so that my toe is not right against the shoe. But with some brands, 8.5 slips off my heals. I do know leather does stretch overtime, so I am not sure which size to try. If this shoe works out, I will plan to purchase others as I like the styles and that they are leather. I also intend to use these for walking and standing. What would you recommend? 8 or 8.5?
